While God’s glory is spreading across the non-western world, most of the Western world is either ignorant of the transformation movement or confused by it, or seek to define it to suit their own ministry objectives. Being notoriously busy and self-focused, many in the Western World pay little attention to God’s powerful work among the nations today, and instead passively hope and wait for God to “start the revival” with their own church or ministry.

Many watch the Transformation documentaries and feel challenged by the accounts and moved by the work of God in these communities but have no idea how to apply or relate the testimony to their own context, so they simply turn off the DVD and return to business as usual.

Why is God’s presence and glory “resting” in some places and not in others? Is it arbitrary? Is there a “revival itinerary” in heaven that fortunate believers are lucky enough to find themselves on and others are not? The transformation testimonies raise important questions, why does God apparently choose some places and not others to demonstrate His presence and glory so dramatically?

These questions are legitimate and how we respond to them is very important. Too often we look at the fruit of ministry and assume we can get there our own way. We must understand God’s ways in revival if we want to see God’s fruit in revival.

The church in the Western world is not barren because of a lack of activities our barrenness result of lack of God’s presence. His lack of manifest presence among people is related to our broken covenant relationship with God.

In the Book of Haggai God, speaking through His prophet provides an assessment of His people and the lack of fruitfulness of their labor by exhorting His people to “consider their ways”:

“Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Consider your ways! You have sown much, and bring in little; you eat, but do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes. Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Consider your ways!’ (Hag 1:5-7)

God wanted the people to consider their erroneous conclusion that it “wasn’t time to build the Lord’s house” by examining their fruit. In other words if their conclusion was correct (that it was ok to build their own paneled houses but to leave God’s house in ruins) they would have been blessed with fruit. But God points out that the evidence of their wrong conclusion is their lack of fruitfulness.

God’s ways and instruction produce fruit in our lives and ministries. Our ways and conclusions do not produce fruit in our lives and ministries!

If we continue doing what we are doing we will only get to the same place we have already been. The next 20 years will produce the same lack of fruit as the last 20 years. We must “consider our ways” and then choose God’s ways in our pursuit of transforming revival!

How Fusion Norway Can Help

If you would like more information and practical next steps in the transformation process, Fusion Norway can serve you in a number of ways. First, through encouragement of what the Lord is saying and doing in transforming revival – this is His heart! Secondly, through consultation with leaders in your community to share vision, process and practical steps forward. Third, through our seminar ministry to share vision and Biblical foundations with participating congregations . Finally, in on-going relationship and coaching in the process itself as you walk out the journey from your own hearts and ultimately for the community.

In the preparation stage of transformation the next step must be to call the church to renewed devotion by consecrating herself back to the Lord. This process will restore the church to intimacy and devotion to the Lord and result in transformation of hearts, families and the congregation itself. As multiple congregations consecrate themselves to the Lord the community itself will be impacted.

For helpful resources on this consider buying the message “A Call to Consecration” and reading carefully the information on the “Face to Face” consecration process.
